It’s A Miracle Fire Country’s Edgewater Hasn’t Burned to the Ground with How Much Drama Profilerates Every Case

It’s safe to say that Fire Country gave viewers quite the buildup before the winter break. Now that I am all caught up, I can genuinely say that I love this series despite a handful of truly infuriating characters.

Is it me, or does every character’s motivation seem to change in every episode?

It’s so back-and-forth that it’s hard to remember where everyone stands on issues like fire safety protocol.

Bode gets a bad rep for following his own rules on Fire Country, but so many other characters are guilty of the same thing. The only difference is that no one else is the “Hometown Hero.”

I have to give Fire Country Season 3 credit for introducing new and rational characters, even if they aren’t permanent fixtures on the show.

Though His Time Was Brief, Jared Padalecki Left a Lasting Impression on Fire Country and Its Viewers

Obviously, I have to talk about the skyscraper that is Jared Padalecki. Seriously, the guy is six-foot-four. Why else would he have been nicknamed “Moose” on Supernatural

If you love television as much as this TV Fanatic, you need no introduction to Mr. Padalecki. The guy has been a broadcast TV vet since before I was in high school.

Sure, everyone knows him from his days fighting monsters, but before that, he played the sweet-as-can-be love interest of Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls. After Supernatural, he stayed at The CW to lead Walker, a reboot of Walker Texas Ranger.

So, yeah, it was only a matter of time before he made his way over to CBS. I guess it’s where former CW stars go as Jensen Ackles, also from Supernatural, has been making waves on the hit series Tracker as the brother of the main character.

Backtracking to Sammy — I mean Phase 3 Fire Training Captain Casey; I was all for how he was trying to rear Bode.

Of course, the writers had to throw in the bit about the character’s little brother because no wise character can be without a tragic backstory.

Still, everything he was telling Bode was utterly logical. Bode is one hundred percent distracted by the issues and problems he takes on. This is evident on “Promise Me,” when he swore to the homeowner that he would save his house.

Bode’s forced heroism is finally catching up to him, and I couldn’t be happier about it. His heroics constantly put people who want to follow orders, like Audrey James, in danger.

Fire Country Is Making Better Choices in Development with Characters Like Audrey James

Honestly, I thought I wasn’t going to like “Jamesy” because of how spicy she came in on Fire Country Season 3 Episode 2, but she has quickly risen in my ranks of likable characters.

As it stands, Bode would do well to listen to Audrey and follow her example as someone who can follow orders and do the job the right way. Those protocols are in place for a reason.

Somehow, Audrey has managed to stay out of the endless drama, and that’s probably because the character keeps her eyes on the prize, i.e., her future.

I would not mind it at all if Audrey and Bode developed a romantic relationship. They could build the kind of relationship Vince and Sharon have.

It would certainly be more organic than Bode and Gabriela’s coupling. At this point, Gabs and Bode have more bad memories between them than good ones.

Gabriela Is So Messy She Can Make Grown Men Run from Their Hometown and Family Without a Second Thought

Speaking of Edgewater’s personal wrecking ball, it’s clear that Miss Perez will not be getting off her destructive path any time soon. That girl is a walking mess.

First, I have to ask, why in the hell did Jordan Calloway’s (Black Lightning) Jake and Gabriela have sex in his truck? It seemed like an odd choice when Jake had an entirely vacant home where they wouldn’t have risked getting caught.

Now, their little tryst will hang over their heads for God only knows how long. Of course, this is all after she blew up her entire life and left Diego at the altar. I’m glad she got stuck with the wedding debt.

Also, I called it on the whole Diego thing. I knew the writers would just have the character leave town, even though it makes zero sense.

So, he just left his whole family behind because a woman he had known for less than a year changed her mind about getting married? Come on. That’s just lazy writing.

It probably seems from all my harping that I must hate Fire Country, but I only get this riled up over shows that have fully sucked me in. I just want the writers to do better with their characters.

Granted, they can’t all be Eve, but it wouldn’t hurt if a few followed her example occasionally.

Fire Country Is Throwing a Much-Deserved Spotlight on Its Most Well-Rounded Character as It Gets Ready to Pick Up Season 3 Where It Left Off Before the Winter Break

Out of all the characters on Fire Country, Eve has to be the most well-developed out of all. She’s the only character who hasn’t had me yelling at the screen.

However, I did have a few choice words for her family in Fire Country Season 1 Episode 8. Maybe I’m too hot-headed, but if I were Eve, I would have told her dad to go to hell.

Seriously, where does that man get off being mad at her after her entire family ignored her for six years? It’s nuts, but that is a very believable story arc. Families are complicated like that.

And then Eve’s dad, Elroy, got on her about choosing the Leones over him and his family. Why wouldn’t she choose the Leones after her own blood exiled her? I hope that man’s ranch burns to the ground, but I’m petty like that.

And, see, after all the trauma with her family, it would make sense for Eve to go down her path of self-destruction. At least she has real problems compared to everyone else.

Jake is losing the daughter that was never really his, Gabriela keeps flip-flopping between owning up to her mistakes, and Bode is, well, doing what Bode always does, which is whatever he thinks is best, chiefs and captains be damned.

I’m officially all caught up with CBS‘s Fire Country and ready to start reviewing brand-new episodes. It’s quite the time to jump on the bandwagon, with Bode and Audrey trapped underwater due to Bode’s constant disregard of command.

Lastly, I can’t believe it took three seasons to get a shirtless Jake. I thought this was a show about firefighters.

All joking aside, this CBS series is so addictive because it keeps audiences guessing from one episode to the next, and I can’t wait to see what else Fire Country Season 3 has in store!
