Jiminy Glick Steals ‘Real Time’ From Bill Maher

The legendary Jiminy Glick came out of retirement tonight because, as Bill Maher said, he needed someone to interview him about his own new book on Real Time.

“I interview authors all the time, but we have a dilemma: I, now, am an author,” said Maher, before introducing former talk show host Glick (a heavily made-up Martin Short).

“This is going to be exciting!” began Glick, before indicating that “this” was something new to him because, “I’m used to interviewing celebrities.”

What followed was a wild, 10-minute ride in which Glick asked all the questions and didn’t wait for answers before moving on to the next question.

Here’s a sampling:

“Your book is a triumph! What do you owe your success to, low expectations?”

“Are there any topics for you that are off limits, other than foreplay?”

“Other than lacking one, what do you think your comedy legacy would be?”

“What’s the oddest thing you’ve accidentally dropped into the toilet?”

Maher tried gamely to answer a few of the queries before his own slurred speech led him on a laughing jag so uncontrollable Maher was left wiping his eyes.

Glick was ready.

“You’d tell me if you’d had a stroke, wouldn’t you?” he asked Maher

The Real Time host later explained to his panel guests, Andrew Cuomo and Adam Kinzinger, that he couldn’t keep up.

“I just melted into laughter,” said the rarely-speechless Maher.
