Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 Spoilers: Tis The Season To Get Even

Tis the season for gift giving, but all Matlock has under her tree this year is beautifully wrapped revenge. And you already know she is going to use the extra fancy kind of ribbon.

Despite a lapse in faith during “Sixteen Steps,” it looks like Madeline will, in fact, keep her day job. That’s a fun parallel to Kathy Bates, who everyone thought was retiring after this show.

Luckily, neither was true. In the Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 promo, Madeline has her groove back and is ready to spread a little holiday cheer.

It’s been a long time coming, but Matty definitely has something big planned for Jacobson Moore this season, and I’m not talking about the holidays. Although this is a great time to rewatch Kathy Bates as Mother Clause in Fred Clause alongside Vince Vaughn.

Matlock Fans Would Be Wise Not To Let Their Guard Down Around Beau Bridges’ Senior

I wasn’t joking about Matty spreading a little holiday cheer. At the start of the Matlock promo, Matty tells Senior, “What do you say we give them a little holiday cheer?”

Right away, the first thing that comes to mind is that Matty has her sights set on the head of Jacobson Moore. Madeline just needs to be careful because when you cut the head of a hydra, three more grow in its place.

By that, I mean that even if Matty manages to find the documents she needs, there’s no guarantee that Senior doesn’t have a contingency plan.

As many viewers will recall and are possibly still upset about like this TV Fanatic, Senior pulled a dirty little trick in Matlock Season 1 Episode 4 when he executed the “Texas Two Step.”

Was it underhanded? Yes. Was it completely legal? Absolutely. So, Senior may be played by the lovable Beau Bridges, but that does not mean audiences should let their guard down.

Senior didn’t get to be the head of an elite law firm by chance. There’s a legal mastermind under all that plaid.

Matlock Makes Good Use Of Characters That Other Shows Might Have Thrown Away

In the Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 promo, the tagline is “tis the season to get even.” I don’t know about you, but that sounds like fighting words wrapped in holiday cheer.

However, who doesn’t love a little mischief around the holidays? It’s why we rewatch movies like Home Alone or How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We love the mix of mayhem and magic.

Speaking of mayhem, everyone’s favorite jury consultant is back for another round of driving Madeline crazy. That’s right, Shae (Yael Grobglas) is back with all her intensity and general over-analytical nature.

One thing that can really grind a viewer’s gears is when a fun character that works with or is affiliated with the main characters is introduced but then never seen again.

Thankfully, Matlock has proven that it is not going down that route, as we have seen the hilarious Patricia Belcher’s Mrs. B multiple times. And you know she hasn’t forgotten about Matty’s dog, Cookie, who died but don’t worry because it was never real in the first place.

Since last seeing Shae in Matlock Season 1 Episode 3, Matty has gotten a better handle on her lies. However, nothing gets past that eagle-eyed jury consultant.

Then again, Madeline Matlock can be heard at the end of the promo saying, “They’re not going to know what hit them.

Everything Is Coming Up Revenge For Madeline Matlock

The official synopsis for Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 reads: “Matty works on a case with Julian in which a young woman sues after experiencing severe symptoms from a clinical trial. At the company holiday party, Olympia learns a secret about Julian’s past.”

Well, Madeline Matlock is moving on up. She wanted to get close to Julian to wedge her way into the pharmaceutical cases, and she did it.

Audiences likely remember the end of Matlock Season 1 Episode 6 when Matty impressed Olympia and Julian so much that they finally moved her right where she needed to be.

For a moment in “Sixteen Steps, ” it was touch-and-go. Matty was recognized as Madeline Kingston on a dating app, Edwin’s morale was at the bottom of the barrel, and Matty had a panic attack, thinking it was a heart attack.

The plan to take down Jacobson Moore almost ended, but things are back on track like an early present. It also looks like the events in “Belly of the Beast” will work in Matty’s favor.

This Holiday Season, Tea Will Be Served Alongside The Hot Chocolate

While things on Matlock tend to lean towards the heavier side of drama due to the cases the firm takes, there is still a great deal of laughter coupled with those tears.

The description for Matlock Season 1 Episode 7 mentions the office holiday party. Now, you don’t have to see Office Christmas Party to know there will be mishaps and mayhem.

When you group together overworked adults and give them free alcohol, they’re going to act like kids in a candy store. All sugar and nonsense.

In that regard, Matty (Kathy Bates) may be able to shake Shae from grilling her throughout the episode. Even better, for Matty at least, Julian may not be as squeaky clean as he looks.

Apparently, tea will be served alongside hot chocolate this year, as someone will be spilling all of it on Julian’s past.

Granted, it could likely be the part of the episode that will have viewers laughing. The idea that something from Julian’s past could bother Olympia after everything they’ve been through is laughable.

If I had to make a guess about what this secret from Julian’s past might be, I’d venture to say that maybe Shae and Julian had a fling at some point.

In “Sixteen Steps,” Julian and Olympia rekindled their marriage and seem to be headed to a very happy reconciliation. Considering how close they’ve become again, it’s been a long time coming.

Do you know what would be really interesting? If Elijah returned for the holiday office party, learned that Olympia and Julian were back together, and dropped a truth bomb about Julian to Olympia.

This is all speculation, of course, but with a show like Matlock, you already know whatever happens will definitely be juicy.
