‘The Daily Show’: Jon Stewart Rips ‘Fox & Friends’ Amid Trump Conviction Coverage & Laughs At Biden’s Bizarre ’70s Sitcom “Freeze-Frame” Grin

Tonight marked the first time Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show since Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts, and the host went after the media, Trump and President Joe Biden.

Stewart roasted Fox News’ Laura Ingraham for calling the justice system a “banana republic.”

The comedian went on to call out South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott for claiming on CNN that the justice system “hunts Republicans while protecting Democrats” on the very same day Hunter Biden faced jury selection for federal gun charges.

He joked that the hosts of Fox & Friends were “using pillows to cover their boners” at that news.

After that show’s correspondents didn’t correct Trump for claiming he never said “lock her up” about former presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, Stewart put them on blast, referencing Fox News’ recent $747 million settlement over repeated false election claims.

“And that, ladies and gentleman, I present to you, is why we need courts,” he explained. “Whatever flaws the American justice system has — and they are legion, especially for non-billionaire former presidents — it does appear to be the last place in America where you can’t just say whatever the f*** you want, regardless of reality.”

Speaking of altered realities, earlier in the show Stewart recapped Biden’s “Cheshire Cat press conference encore,” in which a reporter asked his response to the Trump verdict, and Biden answered only with a grin over his shoulder while exiting the room.

“Why does everything have to be so f***ing weird? Why?” asked Stewart. “If you have something to say about, say it. If you don’t have something to say about it, don’t say it. But you’re just going to stop and hit ‘em with some kinda ‘70s sitcom freeze-frame?”

Stewart then replayed the clip, set to a retro TV intro tune with the credit “And President Biden as ‘Colonel Butters.’”
