It follows a group of Asian and Asian-American friends who live in LA, are impossibly rich and basically go around LA doing the things that impossibly rich people do. Yes, it’s basically Selling Sunset meets Crazy Rich Asians and yes, you are going to love it.
Bookmark this tab because, once you pop over to Netflix and get binge-watching, you’re going to want to come back and follow the cast on Instagram immediately. This lot are sure to brighten your newsfeed…
Self-confessed Queen of Los Angeles is our newfound icon for her IDGAF attitude and we love how that translates into her Instagram; it’s not the perfectly-curated feed of her co-stars. She even recently posted a selfie of one of the show’s producers. We are here for it.
And at the total opposite end of the spectrum to Anna we have Christine, who posts pristinely-staged pics alongside seemingly inspirational quotes from the likes of Vidal Sassoon, Truman Capote and CS Lewis.
Dr. Gabriel Chiu
Plastic surgeon Dr. Gabriel Chiu’s Instagram is NOT for the faint-hearted. There’s some before-and-after pics as well as a few surgery vids. Not one to scroll through while eating your lunch.
Cherie’s Instagram is a weird and wonderful place to be. We could write a 1000-word deep dive report into what is going on there; but for now we’ll just say there is a lot of selfie-editing happening and it’s a little scary.
Kane is your Instagram friend who has just discovered the latest photo-editing app and just doesn’t know when to quit. He’s turned most of his photos into GIFs by adding moving sunlight, clouds, sparkles – and he’s also a fan of the completely unrelated inspirational quote.
Much like in the show, Kevin is topless a lot on Instagram. He also reposts videos from his TikTok in which he gives seemingly unsolicited dating advice, including ‘Attract the man of your dreams…especially if he’s asian…’, and the much-anticipated follow-up: ‘How to attract and date an #asianguy’.
Kelly Mi Li
Kelly’s Instagram is so textbook influencer it’s almost like she wrote the handbook: tiny dogs, holidays, flowers, sushi and holding wild animals that definitely do not want to be held. Oh, and brunch.
Guy doesn’t feature too much in the show but his Instagram is just so extra that it deserves a mention. In fact, Guy’s Instagram is pure anarchy. Some days he’s posting clips from his music videos (not to be mistaken for soft porn); others he’s promoting his hair brand Guy Tang Mydentity; while sometimes he’s just reviewing some snacks he’s eaten. Such is life.
Musician and DJ Kim mostly just posts selfies and editorial shoots she’s done with various magazines, as well as promoting the odd energy drink and posting videos of her playing the piano.
Just as in the show, fashion-savvy Jaime is known on Instagram for her cool-girl style and unique fashion sense. We never knew we needed a holographic suit until we saw Jaime wearing one on Instagram.
