Hailey Bieber has an important message for her online trolls: “Leave me alone, please… I beg of you”

Hailey Bieber‘s TikTok account is usually filled with fun lip-syncing videos and beauty tutorials, but she shared something much more personal when she publicly called out her online trolls in her latest clip – addressing it to “you guys in my comments every single time I post”.

She said: “Leave me alone at this point. I’m minding my business. I don’t do anything, I don’t say anything. Leave me alone, please.

“Enough time has gone by where it’s valid to leave me alone. I beg of you, truly. That’s my only request. Leave me alone. Be miserable somewhere else, please.”

Hailey didn’t confirm whether it was particular hurtful comments she was referring to, but many fans speculated that she was referencing mentions of her husband Justin Bieber‘s ex Selena Gomez, which often appear in the comments of her posts.

Justin and Selena dated on and off for several years, finally ending things completely back in 2018. Many think that Hailey’s comment that “enough time has gone by where it’s valid to leave me alone,” is a reference to their relationship history.

At the 2021 Met Gala, Justin and Hailey were met with chants of “Selena” as they walked the red carpet. And in 2020, the singer publicly defended his wife after an Instagram account encouraged fans to “go after” Hailey during an Instagram Live she had planned.

He wrote on his Instagram Story: “This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so [forth.]… It is extremely hard to choose the high road when I see people like this try and rally to gather people to bully the person I love the most in this world. It is not right.”

It’s not the first time Hailey Bieber has spoken out about her experience with social media trolling – she left Twitter in 2021 due to the “toxic” comments she received, and has also taken breaks from Instagram in the past.

She said in 2019: “It’s hard to focus on your well being and mental health when each time you open Instagram someone is tearing apart your job, or your relationship or essentially any of the things in your life that are positive. I just don’t believe we’re called to live a life where we’re so easily caught up in strangers’ opinions on something they have NOTHING to do with.”
