The Witcher season 4: Cast Details, Release Date & Plot

We might still be waiting for the highly-anticipated season three, expected to land on Netflix in summer 2023, but The Witcher season four has officially been confirmed – and we are in for some major changes.

Making the announcement this week, the creators of the Game of Thrones-esque show revealed that the fourth installment of the supernatural show is in the works – with a new star!

Since the first season landed on Netflix back in 2019, it’s been a roaring success, breaking records for being the most streamed debut in history at the time.

The Witcher season 2 dropped days before Christmas in December 2021 and while fans still have the confirmed prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin – a show that will tell the story of the very first witcher in a time when the worlds of monsters and men were separate – they’ve still got a long wait for season 3.

So, what’s actually in store for The Witcher season 4? Here’s everything we know so far.…

When was The Witcher season 4 confirmed?

Netflix announced season 4 was coming days before Halloween. On the show’s Instagram page, creators wrote: “It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4.”

What will Season 4 of The Witcher be about?

It’s hard to determine exactly what the plot will be for season 4 since we’re still a long way off seeing the third season. However, since the series is based on the fantasy novels and short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, it’s likely season 4 will adapt the next novel, Baptism of Fire. Here, war rages between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms. Geralt (now Liam Hemsworth) gathers a band including Milva of Brokilon Forest, dwarf Zoltan Chivay, and an ancient vampire called Regis.

Who will star in The Witcher season 4?

As we know, we have a new lead in season 4 with Liam Hemsworth taking over from Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
