Kendall Jenner Put a Twist on the Sheer Dress Trend for New Year’s Eve

Kendall Jenner rang in 2024 on a gorgeous beach, as you do when you’re one of the most famous models of all time. Did you really think she’d be wearing a party hat at a house party? Sequins? Or an all black ‘fit for that matter? No way! Jenner travelled to welcome a new year, and she did so in a super, super sheer dress with a bonus cutout detail.

Kendall Jenner shared a handful of pics from her adventure, writing a sweet ode to the new year and what she hopes for 2024. In the photos, she wears Helsa’s Hilma Gown in a creamy beige shade, a long-sleeved silk and spandex dress with ruched, lace-like details at the sleeves, neckline and around the midriff cutout.

The most notable thing about this now-sold-out dress is that the bodice is completely sheer, as you can clearly see on the second slide of her photo dump, which let her nipples show underneath the mesh-like fabric.

Jenner also skipped shoes for the night, letting the high-low hem and train shine without competing with footwear, and accessorised with bold drop earrings. She wore minimal makeup, save for a sunburnt pink blush and a rose brown glossy lip, and pulled her hair up in an effortless updo, as did her pal Hailey Bieber, who joined her in one photo. (Bieber wore a white gown.)

Jenner’s dress is now sold out — surprise, surprise — but it originally retailed for $1,200. In the description, Helsa notes that the dress is “intentionally sheer” and undergarments will show, which is probably why Jenner skipped ‘em entirely! The dress reminds me a bit of when Ariel washes to shore with her new legs, but way, way more glamorous.

“Years pass, and they seem faster and faster,” Jenner wrote. “Presence and time is all I can ask for. So grateful for what has past [sic], so optimistic for what’s to come. Go love on the people you hold close to your heart, and don’t waste a second.” She then asked 2024 to “shower me with love and laughter, gratitude and growth, patience and presence.” And more sheer gown moments, too, I bet!
