Ozzy Osbourne hits out at ‘antisemite’ Kanye for ‘stealing sample’

Ozzy Osbourne has said he refused Kanye West permission to use a Black Sabbath sample because he’s an “antisemite” – but claims the rapper used it anyway.

The rocker said West had asked to use an excerpt from a 1983 live performance of Iron Man.

But, writing on X, Osbourne said he “refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many”.

Osbourne, 75, added: “He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!”

West, who premiered tracks from the Vultures collaboration album this week, has so far not responded.

The sample Osbourne is referring to is believed to feature in the song Carnival.

In December, West – also known as Ye – apologised to “the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions” .

The rapper previously had his X account suspended several times after saying he was “going death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE”, posting an image of a swastika and saying he liked Hitler.

He also accused record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by “the Jewish people” in a post on Instagram.

Adidas pulled out of their high-profile Yeezy trainer deal in 2022, calling West’s comments “unacceptable, hateful and dangerous”.

In his apology, West asked the Jewish community for forgiveness, adding: “It was not my intent to hurt or disrespect, and I very much regret any pain I may have caused.”

However, the American Jewish Committee said he was not “acknowledging the pain that he has caused”.

It added that writing in Hebrew made it “inaccessible to most American Jews who do not speak the language”.

Osbourne’s wife Sharon also took a swipe at West, posting on X: “Welcome to the Carnival @kanyewest #permissionnotgranted #ironman” – alongside a comedic skit featuring Dave Grohl and Lionel Richie.

In the clip, Richie gets angry with Grohl for singing a cover of his hit song, Hello. Captions appear in the video likening Richie’s rage to Osbourne’s.

Former talent show judge Sharon told the Jewish Chronicle last month about growing up in a Jewish household, saying: “Judaism is the only religion I have, and the only one with which I feel comfortable”.
