Did Saweetie Just Bleach Her Eyebrows or Am I Seeing Things? See Photos

It’s not unusual to see models walk the Fashion Week runways with bleached eyebrows. For example, Gigi and Bella Hadid both made catwalk appearances with nearly invisible brows in 2022 — more than once — and Kaia Gerber was among a fleet of models to try the once-again-trendy look during the 2018 shows. And while she’s not walking, Saweetie seems to be feeling her inner supermodel while she’s attending Paris Fashion Week, showing up to the Courrèges show with nearly platinum brows. But whether or not she actually reached for the bleach to achieve this look was not immediately apparent.

On Wednesday, February 28, the rapper shared a carousel of photos to Instagram showing the details of her super chic beauty look, including a sleek, sculpted updo by hairstylist Rio Sreedharan and a stunning makeup look by Esther Edeme. And there’s a lot to unpack with this creative cosmetic moment, like glossy lips, intensely rosy cheeks, graphic liner, and false lashes with a bold balance. But her brows are easily the most striking element of the look.

At first glance, it appears the very blonde brows may be the result of good old-fashioned bleach. But close-ups reveal that we may actually be looking at pure makeup magic — no peroxide required. The eye shadow on Saweetie’s lids is suspiciously similar to the colour of her brows, leading us to think that there may be a generous coat of that shadow on her unbleached brow hairs — perhaps over a layer of concealer to ensure a solidly lightened effect.

The concealer-and-powder option is a great alternative if you don’t want to commit to a full growth cycle of bleached brows, not to mention a safer one. “I definitely do not recommend trying [bleaching your own eyebrows] at home and highly suggest seeing your colourist because it can be dangerous to have bleach that close to your eyes,” says colourist Kristen Kell. And while it may take some trial and error to achieve what Edeme did for Saweetie, it’s definitely a fun temporary way to indulge in the trend.
