Nipple Trend At Paris Fashion Week: Celebrities & Models Ditch The Bra

Sheer dresses have been big news on the red carpet for as long as we can remember, but the style set at Paris Fashion Week right now are making a surprisingly convincing case for the risqué look IRL.

Everyone from designers to models and celebrities seem to have got the memo r.e. freeing the nipple in Paris right now, with brands such as Courrèges, Chloé, Saint Laurent and Acne Studios all sending entirely sheer looks down their Autumn/Winter 2024 runways.

Saint Laurent, in particular, are championing the look, with almost every celebrity guest at the brand’s latest showcase arriving sans bra.

Olivia Wilde and Elsa Hosk have served up two of our favourite sheer moments so far this season, with both tapping into Saint Laurent’s much-loved tailoring.

Elsa’s look consisted of a navy pinstripe skirt suit – complete with pocket square – which she paired with sheer black tights and a similarly sheer polka-dot cami.

Olivia’s look skipped the blazer, but made equally effective use of a high-waisted tailored skirt which she belted and paired with brown leather gloves and *that* sheer brown vest.

Georgia May Jagger, Ebony Riley and Nailea Devora opted for similarly sheer vests, while Zoë Kravitz’s brown dress featured more than one sheer layer, rendering it slightly less revealing at first glance – a similar design technique adopted by Cecilie Bahnsen.

Perhaps the layered look – offering up a slightly more diffused look across the nipple – is a less intimidating way into the trend for the rest of us to consider come Autumn/Winter. You know, if a full-on nipple situation doesn’t feel appropriate once the office Christmas parties invite lands in your inbox…

While fashion week usually serves up a series of looks and trends that are undoubtedly *in* next season, over the last few days we couldn’t help but wonder… Is the bra officially out?
