Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has announced a new solo album. Strange Dance will be released February 24 via Bella Union. Selway has shared the lead single “Check for Signs of Life,” which you can listen to below.
“One of the things I’ve liked about this record is it’s me as a 55-year-old not trying to hide that fact. It feels kind of unguarded rather than seeing that aging process as something that needs to be hidden,” Selway said in a statement. “I wanted it to have that space so if you’re listening to it, you can lose yourself in it. Almost like a refuge.”
Strange Dance is the third solo album in Selway’s discography, following his 2010 debut Familial and his sophomore LP Weatherhouse from 2014. The new album spans 10 tracks and includes collaborations with Hannah Peel, Adrian Utley of Portishead, Quinta, Marta Salogni, Valentina Magaletti, and Laura Moody.
