Marvel fans have waited years for a real Daredevil and Spider-Man moment on screen. That still hasn’t happened in live action, but a much lighter version of the crossover just surfaced, and it involves a handshake, a theme park backdrop, and a lot of internet chatter.

Charlie Cox, who has played Matt Murdock since 2015, has been busy reprising Daredevil across the Marvel universe, including appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, and a starring turn in Daredevil: Born Again. Given that history, any image pairing him with Spider-Man tends to grab attention.
Disneyland Paris shared photos of Cox meeting the web-slinger at Avengers Campus. In one photo, Cox stands arms crossed in a dark T-shirt, grinning beside a Spider-Man striking the same pose. In another, the two shake hands in front of a large spider-emblem backdrop, with Cox dressed down in shorts and sneakers.
The park’s caption leaned into the joke, noting that even good lawyers need a break, and that Cox took time off during his trip to meet Spider-Man. It’s a nod to Murdock’s day job and to how rare a real interaction between the two heroes has been. As one fan put it on X (formerly Twitter), “We got daredevil meeting Spider-Man at DISNEYLAND before any mcu project.”
The timing lines up with another Spider-Man connection for Cox. He is returning as the voice of Matt Murdock in season two of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the animated Disney+ series. A teaser at D23 showed Daredevil in a comics-accurate red suit, following a rooftop fight between the two characters in season one.
Live action has offered less. Daredevil doesn’t appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, despite Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and the Hand both showing up. The news follows word that Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for a third and final season, set to reportedly air on Disney+ in 2027. Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones will return as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, reviving the Netflix-era team dynamic.
