Endgame Encore Tickets Go on Sale? Date Reported

Marvel Studios is bringing back its biggest blockbuster with a twist that fans won’t want to miss. Reports have revealed when tickets for Avengers: Endgame Encore will go on sale ahead of the extended cut’s theatrical return.

Avengers: Endgame Encore returns to theaters ahead of Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios will release Avengers: Endgame Encore in theaters next month as an extended cut of the 2019 blockbuster. Additionally, the re-release adds new footage ahead of Avengers: Doomsday this December. Tickets went on sale Tuesday, August 25, based on updated theater listings from AMC and Regal (via ComicBookMovie.com).

Primarily, the re-release aims to build excitement for Doctor Doom’s arrival in the MCU. However, it remains unclear whether the extra scenes were shot specifically for Encore or pulled from Doomsday. Regardless, Marvel Studios is using this opportunity to reconnect audiences with the Multiverse Saga’s storyline.

Notably, Avengers: Endgame Encore falls under the “Infinity Vision” banner and will screen in IMAX. Meanwhile, the Infinity Vision website now features updated technical specifications for qualifying theaters. As a result, Disney has positioned IMAX screenings as a major draw for the re-release.

The original Avengers: Endgame opened to $1.2 billion worldwide in 2019. At the time, it held the title of highest-grossing movie ever with $2.799 billion before Avatar reclaimed the top spot during a pandemic-era re-release. Still, early projections suggest Encore could help Endgame surpass Avatar’s $2.923 billion total.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film features Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Mark Ruffalo. Furthermore, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner also star alongside Paul Rudd and Brie Larson. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay for the ensemble blockbuster.

The theatrical cut of Avengers: Endgame currently streams on Disney+ for those unwilling to wait. Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters this December with Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom. Ultimately, Avengers: Endgame Encore serves as a direct bridge between the two landmark Avengers films for Marvel fans.
