We all know Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is on the way. Billed as the end to Square Enix’s FF7 Remake Trilogy, this third and final installment should get through the latter parts of the original game while likely altering the story in interesting ways. What we don’t know, however, is what exactly this third entry will be called. And ahead of an official trailer dropping, fans are already sharing predictions for FF7 Remake Part 3‘s title.
And not everyone is trying to be serious about it. In fact, more than a few folks were happy to offer some hilarious suggestions for FF7 Remake Part 3‘s title, and others tried to troll the franchise a bit. It all began over on Reddit, when a user named RaspberryExpert1083 posted, “Part 3 title for FF7 Remake has been finalized” and then asked, “Anyone else think it’s interesting how much thought goes into these titles now?“
Naturally, this led to a bunch of comments about what the title for FF7 Remake Part 3 could be. The title has been a massive source of speculation already, with a number of leaks suggesting everything from Final Fantasy 7 Return to Final Fantasy 7 Redemption. Admittedly, everyone is working under the assumption that the third entry will continue the “Re” naming trend we’ve seen in Remake and Rebirth already, so people on Reddit leaned into that too.
“FF7 Reprise,” “FF7 Resolution,” and “FF7 Requiem” were all guesses for Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘s third installment. However, it’s some of the funnier suggestions here that’ve gotten the strongest reactions.
“FF7 No Regerts,” joked one user, a reference to the terrible tattoo sported by a character in We’re the Millers.
“Final Fantasy 7 ReFantanzio,” joked another, referencing Atlus’ incredible Metaphor: ReFantanzio.
“It will be called Final Fantasy VII R3make,” said a third person on Reddit, which is probably a joke, but considering Square Enix’s and Tetsuya Nomura’s penchant for odd titles, doesn’t feel completely out of nowhere. This is, after all, the same trilogy that gave us DLC called “Episode INTERmission.”
At this point, all we really know about the title is that it’s been officially picked already. The likelihood of it being a “Re” title also makes sense, but otherwise, pretty much anything is possible. With a new PlayStation State of Play on Tuesday and Summer Game Fest kicking off on June 5, there’s a lot of potential for fans to finally see Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 revealed — and its title will finally be unveiled as well.
