There is no denying that, compared to its Grand Theft Auto franchise, the Red Dead saga has not received as much love and attention. Despite many considering 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 to be Rockstar’s magnum opus, with praise for its storytelling, gameplay, performances, and action, it was quickly left to fend for itself as its studio turned its attention to development for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Despite the latest controversy surrounding Red Dead Redemption 2, after one outlet called it a “bad game”, the Rockstar action-adventure title set across the American Frontier during the end of the 19th century has found itself back in the spotlight, and it is a reminder that it is still going strong after almost a decade.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Still Going Strong Via Online
The reason for Red Dead Redemption 2 being as popular as it is to this day is partly down to the success of its online component. Released alongside the game back in 2018, Red Dead Online allows players to create their very own outlaws and cause chaos across the open-world map alongside friends.
Unlike RDR2, which is still yet to welcome a next-gen update, Red Dead Online has received regular updates over the years. So much so, that Rockstar hosts brand-new or returning events each month, allowing players the chance to earn in-game currency, XP, cosmetics, treasure maps, and much more.
This month is no exception with the arrival of Bounty Hunter Bonuses. As you can probably expect from its title, this event will allow you to earn even more cash and resources whilst undertaking bounty hunter missions across Red Dead Online. Running from 1 July to 3 August, players can bag themselves rewards, bonuses and returning items. Not only that but, as always, there are monthly rewards to earn, and they are as follows:
- Log in to receive the Rebellion Poncho
- Bounty Hunters: log in to receive the Spirit of 1776 Bandana (Outlaw Pass 1)
- Complete a Round of Day of Reckoning or Manhunt to receive the white Rushword Shirt (Quick Draw Club 1)
- Complete any Bounty to receive the Asking for Trouble Emote (Quick Draw Club 1)
- Complete a Legendary Bounty to receive the War Cry Emote (Outlaw Pass 1)
- Complete all Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges to receive the green Morning Tail Coat
Red Dead Online Makes Use Of Gaming’s Best Open World
Spread across the same open-world map that we get to experience during Red Dead Redemption 2‘s base game, Red Dead Online has been a way of keeping the game alive for the past eight years. Allowing players to immerse themselves in the historical setting, roleplay with friends, and take on new and exciting content each month has been appreciated by fans, despite many claiming that it has not received the same amount of love and care as Grand Theft Auto Online.
However, with Rockstar expected to launch Grand Theft Auto VI later this year, its attention may soon return to the Red Dead franchise and, as such, we could be looking at a bright future across the Wild West.
