FreeStyle Football 2 Drops a Crossplay Demo

The 2026 World Cup is officially underway, and Joycity and WOORE studio are leaning directly into the global soccer hype. To coincide with the tournament and the launch of Steam Next Fest today, the developers have dropped a massive crossplay demo for FreeStyle Football 2.

The game reunites the original FreeStyle series development team to build a next-gen soccer experience that blends realistic graphics with fast, arcade-driven gameplay. Following two successful closed beta tests, this demo marks the first time FreeStyle Football 2 features full crossplay across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5.

The demo brings a solid chunk of new content to the pitch. Players can drop into a brand new New York map designed specifically for an urban street-soccer aesthetic. Joycity also added a competitive ranked leaderboard for anyone looking to grind the standings, along with expanded cosmetics, including national uniforms to match the ongoing World Cup energy.

Enjoy new content and new perks in the FreeStyle Football 2 crossplay demo.

A gameplay still from FreeStyle Football 2

The most interesting addition to FreeStyle Football 2 is the new Lounge System. Instead of a standard character unlock screen, players recruit their roster by building relationships through conversations.

You use the in-game currency “Reyal” to fill a Favor Gauge and eventually sign contracts with the characters. The recruitment slots reset after every match, adding a light social simulation element to the arcade sports formula. That is a smart way to keep players engaged between actual matches.

Anyone who participates in the demo will walk away with a couple of permanent cosmetic rewards: the ‘Kickoff’ Soccer Gloves and the ‘Known Kickoff’ Profile Icon.

The FreeStyle Football 2 demo is live right now on Xbox and Steam, running entirely through Steam Next Fest until June 22. PlayStation players will get access on June 17.
