Palia‘s seasonal updates have become some of my favorites. It’s a way to greet the sun or snow, and Palia’s Sunkissed Summer series of updates is keeping that going strong. Developed by Singularity 6 and published by Daybreak, Palia has been releasing a series of content updates themed for Summer, and now, they’re closing it out with the Beauty and the Beach Update.
The Beauty and the Beach Update in Palia has added a new Lunar Path, the “duo dance,” a shimmerfly migration, an Insect-a-Palooza, and more. The goal of the Update is to bring enchanted gardens, shimmering skies, and a happily ever after to Palia.
What is new in the Beauty and the Beach Update?
The Beauty and the Beach update adds even more summer whimsy to Palia with the fairytale-inspired Lunar Path called Path of the Briar. Filled with whimsical decor, the storybook-cozy theme is the theme. As the name implies, this storybook addition to the game will allow players to capture their own Tale as Old as Time.

The Great Shimmerfly Migration
The annual Great Shimmerfly Migration has arrived in Palia, and for a limited time, players can find Star Quality Shimmerflies to decorate their housing plots, with the possibility of getting a Shimmerfly Plush.
Lunar Path: Path of the Briar
The focus for the Lunar Path this update is all about storybook endings, whimsy of fairytales, and the coziness that comes with all of that. Here is the list of some of the rewards available on the Path of the Briar:

New Emote: Duo Dance
Emotes are one of the best parts of any multiplayer game, but the one gripe I’ve always had is actually selecting one that interacts with another player. And, keeping with its theme, the Beauty and the Beasch Update has added an emote that you can use a partner for!
Now, players can share the dance floor with a partner with the Duo Dance emote “Heart of Gold” (Song by Steffen Schmidt & Amanda Achen). Singularity 6 also shared that the dance itself was animated with unique choreography from real-life professional dancers.
Additionally, if a player wears the full Briar’s Grace outfit and the other wears the full Bestial Formality outfit, players will unlock the song’s vocal performance.
Bulletin Board Quests
It’s time to be a Bug Scout Leader! Auni is on a mission to prove Kilima has the best bug scouts around, and players can help him by catching Shimmerflies, gathering flowers, preparing bug-catching snacks, and helping with farm chores.
Completing the bulletin board gives the player the recipe for a Shimmerfly Garden to have in your housing plot.
Insect-a-Palooza Is Back
To go with the Bug Couts quests and the Great Shimmerfly Migration in full swing, Insect-a-Palooza has returned to Palia with the Beauty and the Beach Update, where players will be incentivized to load up with bug bombs and chase down insects across the world from August 17 to August 24, 2026.
New Animal: Flutterfox & Phoenixfire Riffroc
- The Flutterfox: Unlock Flutterhoney at Ranching Level 10 in the Amber Echo Store to get the wild Flutterfoxes to join your ranch. For the crafters, it’s important to note that Flutterfoxes produce Silky Fluff, an alternative to Silk Thread.
- The Phoenixfire Riffroc: The stables are expanding with a new fiery horse/bird. The Phoenixfire Riffroc embraces whimsy. Incredibly rare in the wild, the Phoenixfire Riffroc produces a variety of grilled foods fresh from the flames.
New Decor
New decor is bringing “Mane Character Energy,” and it’s all whimsical to the nines. Check out the list of new items and where to get them.
