Disney+ is adding more to its growing KDrama series on the platform with its latest adaptation, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store.
Based on the best-selling novel, with over 13 million copies sold to date worldwide, of the same name, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store is the latest series to be announced as part of an eagerly anticipated slate of upcoming Korean content on Disney+. This live-action adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s work is slated to arrive exclusively on the platform sometime in 2027.
The story is adapted for the screen and directed by Park Young-ju (Citizen of a Kind) and is produced by The LAMP ltd (A Taxi Driver). This latest series will join the ranks of hit Disney+ series, such as Tempest, A Shop For Killers, and more.
What is The Miracles of the Namiya General Store about?
A touching story about the power of kindness, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store follows three young men (Kang You-seok, Park Jung-woo, and Kim Seong-jeong) on the run from a poorly executed crime.
Seeking refuge in a long-abandoned store once known for its advice-giving owner (Ryu Seung-ryong), the trio begin receiving letters from strangers looking for help. But with each response they pen, they begin to discover their messages are somehow reaching recipients (Kim Hye-yoon, Moon Sang-min, and Lee Chae-min) living decades in the past.
