It has been over a year since the world lost Ozzy Osbourne. Throughout this time, his family has shared their grieving process with fans. Recently, Kelly Osbourne opened up about one of the hardest times of her life, including how she finds comfort despite her loss.
Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne Passed Away On July 22, 2025 At The Age Of 76
Kelly is the daughter of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and media personality Sharon Osbourne. She initially rose to prominence through her family’s reality show, The Osbournes. She is also known for her work on Project Catwalk and Fashion Police.
Tragically, Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025. His cause of death was primarily ruled as acute myocardial infarction and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He was 76 at the time of his death.

Over a year after his passing, Kelly looked back on the loss of her father, expressing that it was one of the hardest times of her life. Speaking with Hello! Magazine, she shared, “It’s been the hardest year of my life. I’ll never be the person I was before my father died … a part of me died, too.”
In addition, since the loss of her father, Kelly has faced different scrutiny online, including attacks against her physical appearance. When asked about how she handled this time, she admitted, “I didn’t navigate it — I wasn’t well.” She added, “How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?”
Kelly Osbourne Explained That She Found Comfort In Therapy & Learning New Things About Herself
Despite this, Kelly felt that she has grown since that time. As she noted, “ I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life.”
Continuing to thank her support team, Kelly explained, “[I have] this incredible team of people I’ve built around me who are not just my friends, because what you’ll find when you’re grieving is that people don’t know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends. But the ones who stick around are the real ones.”

Kelly notes that she will always mourn her father. However, she felt it was important to keep “one foot in front of the other” as she moves forward. She explained, “You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It’s a slow process. It’s going to take me a minute. I’m not going to be fixed in a day. I’m not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”
One positive thing Kelly found, as she explained, was the comfort found in therapy. She continued, “It’s great discovering things about yourself [in therapy], and the reasons why I do certain things that stem from my childhood. You go all the way back and you’re like: ‘Oh, my God, that’s why I do that. That’s crazy.’ I’m getting to know myself in a whole new way, but it’s a lot more healthy, I can tell you that.”
