Your local restaurant uses A.I. to create promotional content instead of hiring a digital artist. Even President Trump shares A.I.-generated videos on social media. It’s getting more and more difficult to tell what’s real and what’s fake. Today Show host Sheinelle Jones blasted fake photos of her dead husband. Keep reading for all the details.
Jenna Bush Hager Admits Falling For A.I.
A huge nor’easter storm was supposed to hit New Jersey and the surrounding states on the weekend of September 26, 2026. The area prepared for flooding and other issues from heavy rain and winds. Ed Sheeran and AC/DC’s sold-out concerts scheduled for the weekend were postponed due to the impending storm. But the storm never came.
At least not to the severity that was forecasted. Some areas were hit hard by the storm. Jenna Bush Hager addressed the nor’easter on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Monday, September 28, 2026. She revealed that she was out of town and missed the storm. She saw photos online of areas devastated by the weather. But the photos weren’t real.
The journalist admitted that she was duped by A.I.-generated images of the nor’easter circulating on social media. She called out the people creating the fake images and posting them online. Then, she brought up another fake image from the weekend’s MTV Music Video Awards that showed actor Michael B. Jordan and singer Raye kissing.
That prompted Sheinelle Jones to open up about her own heartbreaking experience with A.I. photos.
Sheinelle Jones Blasts Fake Photos Of Dead Husband
Sheinelle Jones suffered a heartbreaking loss in March 2025 when her husband, Uche Ojeh, died. He passed away after a brief battle with glioblastoma, a rare type of brain cancer. He left behind three children: Kayin, 17, and twins Clara and Uche Jr., both 14.
Sheinelle Jones revealed that she saw A.I. generated content about her late husband on social media after his death. “I remember when I was on leave — ‘Sheinelle Jones: Pictures with Her Husband’ — at one time I was on Facebook and it fooled me,” she recalled. The Today Show host was briefly fooled into believing the images were real.
“Then I started thinking about where we were and who got in there. It fooled me, and it’s me! Then I looked closely and I was like, ‘Wait a minute, this is not real.’ It had a picture of his big hair and that’s not how he had his hair,” she shared.
She also revealed another instance where their three children were included in the fake images. “There was this one, I was on Facebook — and you tell me what I should do — I’m on Facebook. It was like, ‘Sheinelle Jones and Her Family Sits Down with Katie Couric.’ And it’s me with my kids and a picture with Katie, and it looks like we’re in a living room, which was not my living room.”
Jenna Bush Hager Warns Against A.I.
Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager recently disclosed that their kids no longer want to make appearances on the daytime talk show. So, the fake images of her kids sitting down for an interview with Katie Couric upset her greatly.
“I’m sorry, but whoever created that just in the same vein as creating this picture of Raye, whoever created that when somebody is in pain, when somebody is going through a hard time, to make something up when somebody is hurt and you’re creating fake things and I’m so tired of it,” Jenna Bush Hager scolded the ones creating the A.I. photos.
Sheinelle Jones said the best way to combat the fake images is to ignore them and not give them any attention. But Jenna Bush Hager warned that it’s becoming a huge problem. Something to think about the next time you see a seemingly harmless A.I. photo trend on social media.
