Pokémon As We Know It Comes To An End This Week

Pokémon is on top in multiple categories. The TCG is currently on fire (in a good way), selling out constantly in just about every respect, especially when it comes to the Ascended Heroes and Pitch Black sets this year. Pokémon Legends: Z-A, while having some issues, also sold about as well as Arceus, and has the potential to continue its climb this holiday season.

After all, Z-A is still positioned as the newest Pokémon entry even a year out, until Winds and Waves hits in 2027. But there’s also a curveball on the way. As stated on the official Pokémon website, there are changes coming.

Pokemon Mega Evolution Stone

As announced by The Pokémon Company, Legends: Z-A‘s 12th season is coming to a close this week. Season 12 has been a particularly wild time for Pokémon players, as basically any Pokémon is eligible for online play, even Legendaries or Mythical party members. It’s led to a lot of chaos, and some players have even sat things out until they return to the status quo.

Once Season 13 rolls around, things are going back to normal, so you only have a limited time to try out the free-for-all festivities. For reference, Season 12 will run until Wednesday, June 24, at 6:59PM PT. If you want to test out some of the wilder battle parameters any Pokémon game has ever seen, give it a go before Season 13 kicks off.

Mega Scovillain In Combat

Here is the full breakdown of what’s allowed in Season 12: “Eligible Pokémon for Ranked Battles Season 12 include Lumiose Pokédex No. 001–232 and Hyperspace Pokédex No. 001–132. You can register Pokémon from Lv. 1 to Lv. 100, but all Pokémon will automatically be set to Lv. 50 during battles. No more than one Pokémon with the same Pokédex number may be used.”

And here are the rewards that you can still earn if you hustle:

Rank A

  • Gold Bottle Cap ×3
  • Bottle Cap ×5
  • Seed of Mastery ×3
  • Big Nugget ×1

Rank B to Rank E

  • Gold Bottle Cap ×2
  • Bottle Cap ×3

  • Nugget ×2

Rank F to Rank I

Rank J to Rank M

Rank N to Rank R

Rank S and Below

If you’re so inclined, boot up Pokémon Legends: Z-A now and try out Season 12. Worst case, you bounce back off of it after a few battles. It’s a rare time in Pokémon online history, so it’s worth checking out.
