Anne Hathaway Joined A Co-Star & A Director To Promote One Of Her Latest Projects On The View
Hathaway is known for a number of roles throughout her career, starring in films including The Princess Diaries, Ella Enchanted, and The Devil Wears Prada. Recently, she appeared in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey. For the film, Hathaway took on the role of Penelope, who is famously known as the mythic queen of Ithaca, the wife of Odysseus, and the mother of Telemachus.
Recently, Hathaway made an appearance on The View to discuss the film. She appeared alongside Nolan and Matt Damon, who plays her onscreen husband, Odysseus.
During the appearance, Whoopi Goldberg praised the actress’ work in a way that clearly touched her heart. She shared, “Anne Hathaway, it’s been wonderful watching you.” Making note of how Hathaway made an impression on audiences starting as a teen actress, she shared, “It’s been wonderful watching you grow up. And you have just blossomed, turned into this fabulous actress.”
Hathaway began to clasp her hands over her face, exclaiming, “No, don’t!” Goldberg repeated, “Girl! Yes! Yes! You need to know. You need to know.” Hathaway lowered her head toward the table and cried.
This Wasn’t The Only Emotional Moment Hathaway Has Had While Promoting The Odyssey
Recently, news has come out that Hathaway is pregnant with her third child with her husband, Adam Shulman. However, she jokingly assured viewers, “I’d be crying [even] if I wasn’t pregnant right now!” Of course, she also wanted to share some kind words with Goldberg in turn. With tears in her eyes, she shared, “I don’t even know what to say, you know how I feel about you.”
This wasn’t the only emotional episode that Hathaway has had while promoting the movie. As previously reported, she had teared up during an appearance on Today. At the time, Craig Melvin surprised her with a custom gift for her new baby: a Trojan-style baby costume.
