Today Show co-anchor Craig Melvin challenges people whenever he gets the chance. He has taken on NBC News weather correspondent Ryan Chandler, who was encouraging travelers to cheat. Essentially, Craig has no shame, and that may be why viewers love him. However, he just did an interview where he was accused of calling a guest a “whore,” which was followed by a series of mishaps. Keep reading for more on that fateful day.
Craig Melvin Has Epic On-Air Flub
Doing a live interview means anything can and will happen. Names can be mispronounced, people can fall, flubs can be made, wardrobes can malfunction. Yet, that is what makes it so delicious. Today Show co-anchor Craig Melvin just experienced a major mishap while doing a celebrity interview, and he could not escape the embarrassment.

He was interviewing actress Parker Posey, who has done films such as Dazed and Confused, Party Girl, Best in Show, and Inside Out. Parker also starred in the hit HBO Max show The White Lotus. She was chatting with Craig when he wanted to talk to her about a horror film she was set to star in. However, she heard an entirely different word and started to laugh:
“I thought you called me a whore.”
To that, Craig Melvin immediately enunciated “horror” again and made it clear what he was saying:
“I did not call you a whore! H-O-R-R – HORROR!”
Parker Posey had to remind herself what show she was on and where she was doing her interview:
“This is the Today Show. Okay, horror, horror, okay.”
Unfortunately, once she realized what Craig had said, she shared that she would not be featured in an upcoming film as expected. She was said to be in the movie, Sleepover, but that was no longer. That made the interview even more uncomfortable when she dropped that bomb. He had it written right in front of him that she was doing the movie, and now he was stumped.
Calm Down, Parker
Viewers who saw the Today Show interview felt bad for Craig Melvin. They believed that Parker Posey was rude to Craig and had no right to be so cold when he got the movie information wrong:
- Wow. After that Blake Lively/Kjersti Flaa interview, you’d think she would be a little nicer.
- She’s a whack.
- This diva is no longer cute or good looking. Way too much self-importance there.
- She’s a horrible person
It seems like Craig Melvin was just given the wrong information, and it made him look like a bad interviewer. Sadly, it followed his lack of enunciation.
