Curious about who is taking over the role of Chloe Lane on Days of Our Lives? After Nadia Bjorlin confirmed she wouldn’t be returning to the role she originated in 1999, fans have been eager to learn who will step into Chloe’s shoes. A new promo has finally revealed the answer, teasing a passionate reunion with Brady Black and plenty of drama ahead for Salem.
Here is everything we know about the new Chloe Lane on Days of Our Lives, including the casting reveal and why Bjorlin turned down the role.
Sofia Mattsson confirmed as Chloe Lane on Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives confirmed Sofia Mattsson’s casting in March 2026, but the show kept her role under wraps until now.
In a recent promo, she made a brief appearance, which has everyone talking. She shares a scene with Eric Martsolf’s Brady Black. She and Brady kissed passionately. Brady greets her and she later tells him that she has missed him so much. The duo had been in an on-and-off relationship over the years.
In an earlier conversation with PEOPLE, Mattsson shared a few insights about her character and expressed enthusiasm for the challenge that comes with it. She said, “The role is very complex and interesting and I also just love working in daytime. It’s such a fun challenge as an actress since it’s so incredibly fast paced and always very high stakes circumstances.”
Mattsson revealed that she was “nervous” to transition from General Hospital to Days of Our Lives. “But having been on General Hospital helped ease a lot of worries, as I’m already very familiar with the concept and structure of a daytime show,” she added, referring to how her previous experience contributed to her confidence.
Bjorlin originated the role of Chloe in 1999 and last appeared in 2023. In August 2026, she confirmed in a conversation with Michael Fairman that the show offered her the chance to reprise Chloe, but she declined, citing logistical reasons. Bjorlin mentioned that saying no hurt her but confirmed that she won’t return to Days of Our Lives.
